Everything You Need for a Smooth Car Rental Experience
Renting a car in Morocco opens up a world of freedom and adventure. However, there are a few things you should know before you arrive to ensure a smooth experience.
Required Documents
You will need: a valid driving license (at least 1 year old), your passport, a credit card for the deposit, and ideally an International Driving Permit if your license is not in French or Arabic.
Choosing the Right Car
For city use, a small economical car like a Dacia Logan or Renault Clio is perfect and easy to park. If you're planning mountain or desert routes, invest in a 4x4 like a Dacia Duster or Toyota RAV4.
Insurance
Basic insurance is usually included but we strongly recommend taking the Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) for complete peace of mind.
Driving Tips for Morocco
- Drive on the right side of the road
- Speed limits: 60 km/h in cities, 100 km/h on open roads, 120 km/h on motorways
- Always carry your rental documents and ID in the car
- Fuel stations are plentiful in cities but can be sparse in rural areas
